Good-bye Summer…

These days, it’s rare to see both Brad and Nolan playing baseball in the same town, so local family and friends took advantage of the opportunity to cheer them on in person. The twins brought their usual championship-level style of play to their Southern California 2018 collegiate summer baseball teams.

Brad, playing for the California Collegiate League’s Orange County Riptide, finished the summer with 1 HR, 1-3B, 4-2B and 15-1B and a .296 avg. Playing for the Sunset Baseball League’s Long Beach Legends, Nolan led his team with 5-HR, and posted 5-3B, 3-3B, 5-2B and 17-1B, and a .330 avg. He was also named to 2nd Team All Summer. Both teams advanced to their league championship finals, with the Legends earning the top prize.

The duo also demonstrated their speed around the bases and in the outfield, including some defensive plays worthy of a web gem highlight reel.  To view some highlights:

  • check out Brad’s reel, including a 2-run HR (June 16) and key defensive plays (July 9) in right field.
  • watch how Nolan ramps up the noise level with some clutch hits during a regular season  game and a solo bomb in the playoffs.

Ready for the Golden State

Fall pre-season workouts are underway for Brad and Nolan, as their collegiate baseball journey has moved to Northern California, at the University of the Pacific (Stockton) and California State East Bay (Hayward), respectively.  Playing together since their t-ball days, the twins will be on different baseball teams for the first time in their careers. They bring offensive, defensive and leadership skills to California and are expected to enhance the pool of talented players on their teams…

The 2018 season is just around the corner, and can be viewed in person or follow the team online:

Summer Baseball

On the heels of their freshman season with the TVCC Chukars, Brad and Nolan continue their play during this summer with the Boise Capitals AA American Legion baseball team. Their team recently traveled to Pullman, WA to compete in the 2016 Palouse Summer Series 19u in Pullman, WA. Both Brad and Nolan had a productive tournament, both at the plate and in the outfield.

Summer Action Sizzles

The weather isn’t the only thing that is hot this summer, as Brad and Nolan continue to deliver on offense and defense during American Legion play. As players for the Boise Capitals American Legion team, the boys have had hot bats and once on base, they are dangerous base-stealing threats. This weekend’s July 4th tournament in Reno saw several rbi’s and hits, including triples by both and a home run off the scoreboard by Nolan. Their defense remains strong, with web gems in the outfield and outstanding pitching performances by Brad.

Look for more baseball action from the boys this coming week, as they join their teammates and compete against teams from across the Northwest at the annual Summer Classic Wood bat tournament in Boise.

Ready for Spring Season…and beyond

With the start of the 2015 Spring Season just weeks away, Brad and Nolan have been busy with workouts at the hitting facility, regular visits to the gym, and recently, they also participated in a wood bat tourney in Arizona and attended a Boise-based hitting & defense camp. They are also looking ahead to college and playing at the next level, so expect to see action both on and off the field!

Strong Finish to Scout Team Season

The Idaho Cubs Scout team traveled to Washington to play their final weekend against Walla Walla Community College. Brad and Nolan finished strong, combining for 12 hits, 8 RBI’s & 2 stolen bases for the weekend (see video clips).

Special thanks to Idaho Cubs Coaches Gary Van Tol,  Jason Krohn and Hilton Richardson, along with the college coaches who provided the players with a great experience, both on the field and on the campus tours.

ID Cubs Scout Team Games Continue

It’s been a busy time for the Idaho Cubs Scout team during September and October. After playing competitive games at Salt Lake Community College, College of Idaho in Caldwell, NNU in Nampa and Spokane Falls Community College in Washington, Brad, Nolan and the rest of the team will head to Ontario, Oregon and Walla Walla, Washington to play the final games of the season. The coaches and colleges have also done a great job of giving the players (and their parents!) a glimpse of a college athlete’s life with tours of their facilities, too.
