Winter Workouts, College Recruiting
With the competitive Idaho Cubs Scout Team schedule in the books, Brad and Nolan are now focused on winter workouts, continued strength & conditioning, and college recruiting priorities. Their schedule includes more college visits in January, and they are also scheduled to take part in the 2015 the Idaho Cubs Prospect Camp.
A couple of highlights from the 2014 American Legion season:

Strong Finish to Scout Team Season
The Idaho Cubs Scout team traveled to Washington to play their final weekend against Walla Walla Community College. Brad and Nolan finished strong, combining for 12 hits, 8 RBI’s & 2 stolen bases for the weekend (see video clips).
Special thanks to Idaho Cubs Coaches Gary Van Tol, Jason Krohn and Hilton Richardson, along with the college coaches who provided the players with a great experience, both on the field and on the campus tours.

ID Cubs Scout Team Games Continue
It’s been a busy time for the Idaho Cubs Scout team during September and October. After playing competitive games at Salt Lake Community College, College of Idaho in Caldwell, NNU in Nampa and Spokane Falls Community College in Washington, Brad, Nolan and the rest of the team will head to Ontario, Oregon and Walla Walla, Washington to play the final games of the season. The coaches and colleges have also done a great job of giving the players (and their parents!) a glimpse of a college athlete’s life with tours of their facilities, too.

2014 Idaho Scout Team Games Underway
Brad and Nolan joined other high school ball players from across Idaho to play their first weekend series of games as the Idaho Cubs Scout team. The players will compete against junior colleges baseball teams from Idaho, Washington and Utah during the months of September and October.

Getting Ready for Fall Baseball

With the end of American Legion summer baseball, energies now shift to Fall activities. Brad and Nolan are preparing for the start of their Senior year, while looking ahead to tournaments and scout teams this Fall. Updates will be posted as soon as details are confirmed, so check back!
Summer Classic Hits & Web Gems
The 100+ temperatures didn’t stifle Nolan and Brad on offense or on defense during the 4-day Summer Classic Wood Bat tournament. Both produced a number of solid hits, including a lead-off triple for Brad and a home-run for Nolan. They also came up with the defense when in mattered, including back-to-back web gems in the outfield in the final inning of the championship game to help lead the Boise Capitals to victory. A few tournament highlights are in the photos below and on this video link.
Next week: District tournament!!

Summer Classic Tournament
Following a July 4th tournament in Spokane, Brad and Nolan are playing this week in the Donnelley Sports Summer Classic, a 4-day tournament in Boise that includes teams from Southern Idaho as well as Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Canada.
Summer baseball continues in Spokane
Following the 7-games played at the USA Baseball 17U West tournament in Arizona, Brad and Nolan are on the road again, this time to the north to take part in the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene American Legion Wood Bat.
